I’m not great at studio portraits. They have just never been something I was drawn to and I haven’t put much time into improving my skills. So most of them tend to be like this one, with even diffuse lighting. But sometimes that is enough. Particularly if you add in a little Photoshop work to emphasize the product (Stacey has an Etsy shop: Sweetlittlesparrow). Still, I wish I knew a little more about lighting and posing. I have books and books on the topic, but never find time to read them somehow. The color balance is a little warm, which was a conscious decision at the time. Trying to make the image and product seem more friendly I suppose. Though looking back at it now, I’m not sure I like it as much.
